If his feet were only 3 feet off the ground with the rope around his neck, then he could have easily jumped up and grabbed the rope from the ground, climbed up the rope until he could slip the end around his neck, and then just let go. The wet spot is from when he lost control of his bodily functions.

The puddle may have been from water thrown out of a tall bucket that he used to stand on and hang himself.
#3 - Rawbs - 10/27/2007 - 21:11
Rawbs the barn is completely empty.

Its ICE! He was on a block of ice, he hung himself, it melted, he died!
#5 - KENNETH - 11/06/2007 - 23:24
Sucide?
Why did the man commit suicide anyways?
#6 - Sakura - 12/12/2007 - 14:20
the rope
How did he originally hang the rope? And he could have done it with out the ice.
#7 - hawk - 12/19/2007 - 10:40
It was quite easy

bigger question
Hey.Hawks question is a more difficult one then the original problem itself.Any takers?
#9 - Ankit - 01/26/2008 - 08:57
He could've climbed in from the roof with a rope, tied it onto the rafter (with a loop at the end) and then climbed down it, and hung himself.

ICE
He stood on ice...der...but how did the rope get up there? meh...these questions have to be more realistic

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
he stood on ice, tied the rope, then stood until the ice melted. when the ice melted he died.

that was very a morbid question. Can't they ask some more cheerful questions??

Huh
OK, for one how did you guys get this and I just guessed he could jump really high. Go figure. lol wonder what made the guy who wrote this make his character commit suicide, anger isues if you ask me sakura.

just me
what a horrific puzzle.... the man climbed onto a piece of ice and waited patiently for it to melt whilst slowly choking to death. I figured that he just kicked the horse he was sitting on to make it bolt (horse pee on the floor) thus at least making it quick.

#15 - Lydia - 06/09/2008 - 13:40
Ice
wouldn't the ice be slippery?
#16 - Yunie - 07/07/2008 - 03:27
Hawk's Question
the answer is obvious! Clearly, he climbed a rope so that he could get up to tie the rope up there to hang himself with and then... uh... he used the rope... that he tied up there initially... to... yeah... doesn't make sense. I think the whole -Lateral thinking problems that require require a little imagination to solve.- clause may have taken a few too many liberties here.
#17 - Sange - 07/08/2008 - 18:04
The barn was not completly empty if the block of ice was there.
#18 - Diane - 09/20/2008 - 13:09
With that logic Diane, it also had oxygen inside, so it wasn't empty for that reason too.
