two sons and two fathers are on a fishing trip. On the way home, they are in an accident and one of them dies. Now there are only two of them alive. How is this possible? |

Clear explanation.
Three people A B C.
A is the father of B.
B is the father of C.
So we have two fathers and two sons in just three people. |

By "them" you never specified if it was either a father or son. So if a father died, that would leave two sons and so two of "them". If a son died, two fathers would be alive and there would still be two of "them". |
