89. Ford's Soup Interview Strategy

When Henry Ford interviewed a candidate for a Senior position in his company he often took the candidate out for lunch and ordered soup for them. Why?

Added 9 February 2009

Hint:

Consider the candidate's behavior during the meal.

Solution:

Henry Ford wanted to see how the candidate behaved when they were served soup. If they salted the soup before tasting it, it indicated a lack of judgment, which was a red flag for Ford.
