There is a pattern C A R R and the question is, what is the next letter in the pattern. The choices were S I X Y. He also gave numbers for the question and answers, so the numbers for C A R R are 3 1 18 18 and the answers could be 9 19 24 25, which are S I X Y.

Hi,
This is my explanation. If it is wrong please correct me.

C.....A.....R....R........_........next letter should be among S, I, X and Y.
3.....1.....18....18..... _
.......4.....18....18..... _........(i.e. 3+1)
...............4.....18..... _........(i.e. 4+1+8=13-> 4)
.......................4...... _........(i.e. 4+ 1+8= 13-> 4)
...............................4

If S, 4+1+9=14->5;
If X, 4+2+4=10->1;
If Y, 4+2+5=11->2;
If I, 4+9=13->4; So i guess the Answer is I among S,I,X and Y.
