57. Elevator Limitations on Rainy Days

A man lives on the top floor of a condominium. Every morning he takes the elevator to the lobby and exits the building. When he returns, however, he can only go up halfway with the elevator and has to walk the rest of the way - unless it is raining. What is the explanation for this behavior?

Hint:

Think of something that could limit the use of the elevator.

Solution:

The man is short and can only reach the elevator button for the ground floor. When it rains, he uses an umbrella, which allows him to press the button for his floor.
