Added 4 October 2011 Show Hint Show Solution Hint: Consider how you can use both candles simultaneously. Solution: Light one candle at both ends and the other candle at one end. The first candle will burn out in 30 minutes, and then you can light the other end of the second candle, which will take an additional 15 minutes to burn out, totaling 45 minutes.
