78. Sisters Cross the River Differently

Mary and Maria, real sisters, had to cross a river...

There was a bridge to cross a river, Mary went on the bridge and crossed the river easily...

But Maria jumped in the river, did the efforts of swimming and thus crossed the river...

Still all people were saying that Maria is more intelligent. How come????

Solution:

The bridge was old and could take only a child’s weight. Mary, the younger and lighter sister, could walk over it safely, but Maria knew that if she tried it would collapse. Realising the danger, she chose to swim instead, so everyone judged Maria the smarter of the two.
